This is a Slovenian selection (Castanea sativa). The tree grows to a medium size, has a beautiful habit and a dense canopy. So far it has proved to be tolerant of the chestnut blight and also of the chestnut gall wasp. It greens and flowers slightly before the Euro-Japanese hybrids. It yields early. There are usually two normally developed fruit in each burr, which are medium to large in size. They are round to broadly elliptical with a long and broad hilum. Longitudinal grooves are clearly visible on the reddish-black-brown shell. The kernel is usually monoembryonic. The partition of the fruit is medium to low.
