Precoce Migoule

It is a cross between European and Japanese chestnut (Castanea sativa x Castanea crenata). It is a tree of medium to weak growth, upright habit, later the tree crown opens up. Produces well to very well. It is moderately susceptible to chestnut blight and chestnut gall wasp. Buds early, flowers medium early. It is a good pollinator of many varieties. There are two to three normally developed fruits in the burr. The fruit is large, triangular elliptical shape, light mahogany colour. The partition of the fruit is medium, but otherwise it is the internal quality of the fruit is slightly worse, as it can be polioembryonic up to 40%.
