Fertignac
This is a French cross between the varieties Ronde de Montignac and Chandler. Budding takes place in the last days of April. It is resistant to spring frosts and very little susceptible to walnut blight and walnut anthracnose. Susceptibility to the walnut fly is low to medium. The tree has a medium-sized, slightly upright growth habit. It bears fruit very early and is very fruitful as it emerges from lateral buds. It is partially self pollinated. Potential pollinators are the varieties Elit and Ronde de Montignac. The fruit is slightly elongated, medium-sized, with well-sewn, light-coloured and slightly wrinkled shell. The kernel yield is 43-48 %. The kernel is very light in colour, easy to remove and of excellent quality. It ripens in the first half of October. It can be grown anywhere in Slovenia.
