This is a random seedling of the American variety Payne. It was selected in France. Budding in the last decade of April. It is moderately sensitive to spring cold, young shoots are more sensitive to walnut blight. Susceptibility to walnut anthracnose is low. The plant fruits very early. It fruits on lateral buds, so fruiting is very abundant and regular. The fruit is large and has a nice round shape. The shell is light in colour, smooth, with creases in between. The kernel is light brown in colour. The variety is cultivated in Primorje and on the Slovenian mainland in vineyards and on the upper slopes.
