Istrska dolgoplodna leska

It originates from Croatian Istria and is well domesticated in Slovenia. It grows medium to lush and has characteristic open, slightly drooping habitus. It usually grown as a bush. It bears very abundantly. Little susceptible to the nut weevil and the hazelnut gall mite. Flowers and buds medium early. The fruit is large and elongated. It does not fall out of the green envelope when ripe. The shell is medium thick, attractive hazelnut colour. Kernels are elongated with a pointed tip and a thin and smooth skin, which comes off completely when roasted.
