Fertile de Coutard (Barcelona)

The origin is not fully known. It grows very luxuriantly and produces abundantly. We cultivate it like a bush or a tree. It is somewhat more sensitive to nut weevil and a little to the hazelnut gall mite. Flowers and buds early. The fruit is large, broad and round. The shell is relatively thick, dark chestnut-coloured and dull. Fallout of ripe hazelnuts from the green envelope is almost perfect. Kernel is a round conical shape with a thin and dark skin that peels medium well after roasting.
