Franquette
It is one of the oldest French varieties. It is one of the most widespread walnut varieties in the world. Budding at the end of April. It is frost-hardy and slightly susceptible to walnut blight and walnut anthracnose. It fruits regularly and well and has a terminal fruit set. The fruit is medium to large in size. The shell is thin, firm, slightly furrowed and of a beautiful light colour. The kernel is very light in colour, has an excellent flavour and is easy to remove. It can be planted anywhere in Slovenia.
