Ennis

This is an American variety. It grows weakly to moderately lush and develops a dense canopy. It thrives well in both bushy and tree-like form. It bears well and regularly. Little susceptible to the nut weevil and the hazelnut gall mite. Flowers and buds late. The fruit is large, oval-round in shape. When ripe, it almost always falls out of the green envelopes. The shell is medium-thick, attractive-looking, light hazelnut-coloured with darker longitudinal cracks and glossy. The kernel is oval pointed with patches of thicker but smooth skin, which doesnt peel as good when roasted.
