Ela

This is a new Slovenian variety, bred by crossing Petovio x Elite. Budding medium-late, up to ten days before the Franquette variety. It is less susceptible to walnut blight and walnut anthracnose. The tree grows medium to luxuriantly, forms a beautiful crown and has an attractive appearance. It is partially self-pollinated. It is an intermediate type - bears on vigorous annual shoots that grow from biennial and perennial wood. Fruiting is average and regular. The fruit is round, small to medium-sized, attractive to look at and has a smooth shell. The kernels are easy to remove. It can be used in all climate zones in Slovenia. It should have an advantage in elevated and vineyard locations.
