Gunslebert
Of unknown, probably German origin. It grows very luxuriantly, robustly and produces well. It is quite sensitive to nut weevil and a little to the hazelnut gall mite. Blooms and flowers late. It is a good single pollinator for many varieties. The fruit is medium-sized, elongated in shape with slight longitudinal furrows. When ripe, it falls out of pretty green envelopes. The shell is medium thick, light brown in colour and shiny with highlights. The kernel is elongated with a fairly compact skin that is moderately easy to roast.
