Tonda Gentile Romana
This is an old Italian variety. Grows moderately lush, somewhat spreading. We plant it as a bush or tree. It bears well and regularly. It is a little sensitive to nut weevil and almost resistant to the hazelnut gall mite. Flowers and medium-late budding. The fruit is fine to medium-thick, roundish in shape. The ripe fruit falls out of the green envelope perfectly. The skin is thin, chestnut-coloured with light longitudinal lines. The kernel is round with a thin skin that does not roast well.
